Our Philosophy

To make a difference in the world’s energy consumption, it will take many renewable energy systems installed on everything from a million square foot manufacturing facility in Iowa, to a community of three hundred square meter townhomes in India, to a decommissioned landfill in Carbondale, CO. These systems transform natural phenomena into usable power, cutting the need to generate electricity from resources we can never use again and reducing pollution. This is the SoleVento Solution. We live by the philosophy which asserts that life is made valuable by reasoned choice and deliberate action. That which makes this choice possible, namely the natural environment and our rational, able minds, is what we aim to preserve and steward. Our products and services will help those interested to do exactly that.

Our Beginnings

Cynthia Reffler and Bruce Brown met in 2000 while working for the only green builder in Fort Collins at the time. They decided to start CJR Homes to emphasize renovation and remodeling of existing homes over building new homes. Stressing the importance of tight insulation, high quality windows, passive solar design and the use of natural, nontoxic materials throughout the building process, they have since improved over 100 homes since CJR’s inception.

Upon bringing on Walker Gross as part of the CJR Homes team, Cynthia and Bruce realized that they were missing a piece of the puzzle: All of the homes they improved were still relying on coal and natural gas for their energy systems.

While sitting in a local burrito house discussing what to do amidst the beginnings of the next last great recession, Walker proposed that he and CJR become partners in a new renewable energy business. The business would center on providing energy systems for large commercial businesses while also providing energy solutions for homes across the country.  SoleVento’s final evolutionary step which came through tough market truths and a need to focus their energy in one main direction chose to primarily focus on commercial systems and utility scale development.  One and a half years later SoleVento built itself into a leader in custom commercial small wind turbine integration, installation, and design and is quickly becoming a leading solar PV integration company.

The Evolution of the SoleVento Team

SoleVento is no longer simply Cynthia, Walker, and Bruce, but has grown to encompass an extended team of highly skilled engineers, NABCEP installers, financing professionals,commercial electricians, operations and logistics specialists, a telecommunications expert, international business experts, bottom up sales professionals, and the full range of cutting edge electronics manufacturing partners.  Yes, we have not been around long, but our team’s experience now encompasses 30+ years of cumulative experience in renewable energy, finance, construction, and cutting edge technological integration.  The Team is responsible more than a gigawatt in installed capacity and is currently bringing the some of the most exciting new technology to the market.  SoleVento, LLC is committed to cultivating and sustaining long term relationships with our partners, communities, and Governments.  SoleVento believes in constantly pushing the boundaries of what is considered possible.  We love what we do, and hope to pass that same passion to you.
